Science notebooks allow to assess students' understanding and provide the feedback students need for improving their performance. Science notebooks are a valuable tool for both teachers and students to use to determineprior knowledge and existing science ideas, how conceptual understanding is being built, procedural understanding, mastery of curriculum goals, and the ability to apply/transfer ideas to new context
